Fourth Annual Hmong New Year Cultural Festival
The Butte County RCD recently participated in the Fourth Annual
Hmong New Year Cultural Festival held on Sept. 30 and October
1 at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico.
The BC-RCD “Education and Outreach” booth emphasized the various
programs available to underserved, beginning, and limited-resource
farmers through Federal NRCS programs as well as information
from the Butte County Agricultural Commissioner on Best Management
Practices. Brochures and information were available in Hmong
and English.
Everyone who stopped by the booth was very friendly and proud
to have the BC-RCD participate in their New Year celebration.
The “Test Your Water IQ” game wheel caught
a lot of attention and drew curious children (as well as adults)
to the booth for a closer look
